‘Follow the Star’ takes inspiration from the wise men from the East who were anticipating the birth of Christ and journeyed to worship him. Their story holds key messages and challenges for believers today as we await the return of Christ. As individuals may relate to different aspects of the wise men's story, the Conference program will offer four streams based on different stages of the wise men's journey, which challenge us to be prepared and ready for the return of Christ.
Each Stream will include:
Plenary sessions, led by one of our Keynote presenters
Elective sessions, delivered by our keynote presenters & topic experts from around Australia.
During the week, there will be 11 Plenary sessions & over 96 Elective session to choose from. Suggestions for Elective sessions can be submitted online.
What to expect with each Stream
Stream 1: Waiting for Jesus This stream is inspired by the knowledge and commitment of the wise men – it recognises both their knowledge of the promised Messiah and their patient wait for his arrival.
The aim for this stream is to focus on the foundations of God’s message that are relevant to us becoming more like Christ and the strength of our beliefs as we patiently wait for His return.
The two key topics associated with this stream are Discipleship and Faith.
Stream 2: Walking toward Jesus The wise men journeyed from the East to worship Christ. We do not know what challenges they faced along their journey but we do know they journeyed together. In a similar way, our life-saving journey need not be made alone.
This stream looks at how the wider group can share each other's load and positively help meet the needs of others making the journey.
The two key topics associated with this stream are Fellowship and Service.
Stream 3: Witnessing of Jesus The journey of the wise men is an awesome example of personal witness of one’s beliefs. This stream focuses on ways to spread the message in word and in action.
The two key areas addressed in this stream are Teaching and Preaching.
Stream 4: Worshiping our Lord Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
The stream will focus on ways our entire being can give praise to God & look at the practical gifts we can bring to him in our 21st Century lives.
The two key actions associated with this stream are Praising and Giving.
